ISPO and the Academy Announce OLC Courses Available in Spanish to ISPO Members

Two popular Online Learning Center courses have been translated into Spanish for members of ISPO

The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy) recently announced its collaboration with the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO), with translation of two courses from the Academy’s Paul E. Leimkuehler Online Learning Center (OLC) into Spanish for use by ISPO members.

This initiative results from a joint willingness of ISPO and the Academy to cooperate more closely and both organizations will continue their efforts to work together on global initiatives. These courses will provide current O&P education to the Spanish-speaking members of ISPO. In recognition of the importance of continuing education, the Academy is offering these courses free of charge to ISPO members for a year. They do not carry continuing education credits.

The two courses that have been translated are "Orthotic Treatment of the Pediatric and Adolescent Spine" by Donald E. Katz, MHA, CO/L, FAAOP, and "Rationale and Practice of Prescribing Prosthetic Feet" by Gerald E. Stark, BSME, CP, FAAOP.

The Academy and ISPO thank Dr. Margarita Fernández, a physiatrist from Venezuela, Dr. José Paúl Rodríguez, a physiatrist from the Dominican Republic, and the staff from Hands on Spanish for their help in translating these courses.
